The all new, technologically progressive Proudly South African website was launched at the end of June 2009 – and no-one will disagree that the result is well worth the effort.
Content was revised, archived, redeveloped and an all-new user-centred design introduced. Bold graphics and colour were applied, set against a dark background to best project the shell of the site.
Behind the scenes, the underlying site-structure was also rebuilt and sections of the site were repositioned. Together with the introduction of a site map it allows for an easy to use navigation system. The Proudly SA website now boasts web 2.0 tools such as light boxes and a fully functional Proudly South African member search facility.
In essence a solid new foundation has been built which will make it possible to progressively introduce more functionalities, such as web-based communities, hosted services, other web applications, social-networking sites and blogs, some of which are already in production.
Other related projects include a new mail-merge application, mobisite, intranet and upgrades to the Campaign’s membership database. Together all of these elements ensure greater cohesion of the Campaign’s electronic media.
The addition of certain technologies will also enable Proudly SA to gather comprehensive statistics about the use of the website and important visitor trends and preferences. |
