FLY THE FLAG FOR FOOTBALL

South Africa’s International Marketing Council (IMC), custodians of Brand South Africa, has developed various tools and applications that may be accessed to help promote a welcoming and friendly culture amongst South Africans towards all visitors.

The IMC’s mobisite guides South Africans to “welcome visitors with pride and the spirit of ubuntu”.  It also provides guidelines on the correct display of the South African National Flag - proud symbol of unity - which was launched on Freedom Day, 27 April 1994.
The Flag should always be displayed with the red bar at the top or on the left.  It goes without saying that, as with all South Africa’s National symbols, the Flag should always be treated with respect.

Members are encouraged to promote the use of the South African National Flag, to learn the words of the National Anthem; to learn how to do the soccer dance – Diski; to get into the 2010 soccer mode through the Football Friday initiative by wearing Bafana Bafana shirts; and to help spread correct facts and news on South Africa and its many achievements – for 2010 and beyond!
