
Homegrown designer of international repute, Sonwabile Ndamase, recently joined the South African community in celebrating SA’s Heritage Day in Fiji on 24 September.
Mr. Ndamase, the designer and creator of the world-acclaimed Madiba Shirt and owner of the Vukani Range Creations was visiting Fiji to showcase his designs to the people of Fiji, where he was warmly received. “I would like the people of Fiji to wear a Vukani design," he was quoted as saying by the Fiji News.
The South Africa High Commission Charge d'affaires, Colonel Hlaliso Qomoyi, confirmed that Heritage Day was intended for South Africans to “showcase their culture to the world”, said Mr. Ndamase. The South African High Commission in Fiji had extended the celebrations to a week.
