CALL TO DISCUSS/ENLIST ALL EVENTS PLANNED FOR GREATER PRETORIA AREA IN JUNE / JULY 2010

The City of Tshwane’s 2010 Unit will be hosting a special meeting for all communication and event managers in Tshwane to discuss and assess all events planned for the period of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ next year - that is 11 June to 11 July 2010. 

A spokesperson for the metropolitan municipality has indicated that it is imperative for any events planned for that time to be included in the city’s planning.  This is necessary since resources such as Metro Police will be stretched at that time. 

To avoid any disappointments or non-approval of event plans for events scheduled to take place during the World Cup time, the metro has invited event managers to attend a meeting on 7 October 2009 at the Centurion Council Chambers to put forward details of their planned events and to familiarise themselves with the nature of events planned by the City of Tshwane (host city) in the run-up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ and during the period June / July 2010.

Venue:            Centurion Council Chambers

Event submissions:  Should you be planning an event in the Tshwane municipal area during the World Cup time, kindly send a notification and a brief outline to juliew@tshwane.gov.za or 2010@tshwane.gov.za , preferably by 5 October, if possible, for inclusion in the programme before the meeting.
