MISS EARTH SOUTH AFRICA INCLUDED IN UN YOUTH PROGRAMME FOR COPENHAGEN

South Africa, represented by Miss Earth South Africa, Ella Bella, was privileged to have been included in the United Nations Youth Programme during the December 2009 Climate Conference in Copenhagen.

As the designated green ambassador in Denmark, she served on several other bodies and forums at this landmark conference.

The mission of the Regional Office of UNEP for Africa is to provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples in Africa to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.

Ella Bella has successfully run Miss Earth South Africa in association with Consol’s national school programmes and educational initiatives over the past two years. This Master's graduate will resume her duties as part of a rewarding schools campaign in February 2010 during which extensive Stationery Drive will be rolled out in townships and amongst rural communities.
