BRINGING HOT RUNNING WATER TO THE COMMUNITIES

No RDP house, new or old has any hot water or a bath in it and cannot take a conventional geyser as they do not get enough electrical ampage to run this . Hot water is a basic need that one thinks all have. Tshisa Bathrooms are trying to correct that imbalance.

A few years ago Piet Uys and a school friend were chatting about basic needs, and the topic of hot water came up. “We discovered that all the RDP houses built and being built did not have hot water,in fact they only have one plug point with 20amps of power to serviced the entire house. This disturbed us so much that we decided to do something about it,” says Piet.

“I designed a cost effective geyser that would save on electricity and fit into any RDP house eliminating the boiling of kettles in the morning to clean themselves ,and a bath and hand wash basin so that families could bath in hot water that we take for granted , . This was then patented “ he added

Mould were made in China, shipped to South Africa ,a local injection moulder was approached to manufacture the product for us and local companies asked to supply the components. The product now carries the Proudly SA label.

The geyser has SABS safety approval, holds 65lt of water with a 60°c thermostat and is gravity fed. It fits onto any wall with 3 bolts that are supplied and an insert valve to control water flow. In fact it works like an oversize toilet cistern but heated.

Much to our amazement 70% of the labour force do not have hot running water at home ,companies can consider rewarding staff with bathrooms for outstanding performances or have competions where this could be won.

The suggested retail price for the geyser is R795 and for a geyser with bath and basin R1500.
