NEW CEO FOR ESKOM

The Board of the power utility, Eskom, has appointed Brian Dames as the new chief executive. He assumed he’s new position on the 1st of July 2010.

Eskom has been without a CEO Since November 2009 after Jacob Maroga offered to resign during a board- meeting clash with his chairperson Bobby Godsell.

Brian Dames born in Britstown, is an Eskom Veteran of more than 20 years. Prior to his current position, he held numerous positions in the company including Power Station Manager, Engineering Manager and Chief Officer of Business Generation.

The Eskom board highlighted how honoured they were to welcome Dames as the new CEO and feel that his appointment will bring stability to the organisation as well as complete the leadership team that will take Eskom further into a new era.
