Furniture has been designated by government as a sector which when being procured by any public sector entity must be sourced and manufactured locally. Since government is the single biggest procurer in the country, this offers the furniture manufacturing industry an opportunity to leverage all purchases of office, school, hospital etc furniture items.

Proudly South African has created this portal as a place where verified local manufacturers can list their products and to which both government and the private sector can refer as a source of local suppliers. It is a non-transactional site but provides a listing of companies that are registered with the Furniture Bargaining Council.

Companies that are interested in displaying some or all of their range on the portal may apply by CLICKING HERE

  • Furnishing for isolation centres/temporary medical facilities.

If you manufacture any of these or related items, register here.

Office and School Furniture

As workspaces are reconfigured to accommodate physical distancing, and more people are working from home on a semi permanent basis, there is an increased demand for:

  • Providing safe home office solutions,
  • Furniture for education institutions to promote physical distancing

If you manufacture any of these or related items, register here

Shared spaces in hotels and other hospitality related industries (including restaurants) are being reconfigured and this provides an opportunity for furniture manufacturers.
